New Patient Registration

Why Choose New Pond Road Row Surgery?

  • We have a high level of patient access - we try to make sure that you can see the most appropriate GP or Nurse as soon as possible.
  • We have a triage system which means you will speak to a GP if you are very unwell who will decide the best course of action.
  • We provide an evening and early morning clinic once a week with appointments to access Nurse, GP and Health Care Assistant.

  • We are open to suggestions to improve our service and ready to make positive changes wherever possible.

How To Register?

We regret to inform you that we will be undertaking a temporary list suspension. This means that we will not be registering new patients at our practice.

The only registrations we can accept at this time are immediate family members of patients already registered, and newborn babies.

GP Practices have a duty of care to provide quality, accessible and safe care to patients. We also have an obligation to review and take appropriate measures if we deem our workload would compromise patient safety or the care we provide. Therefore we have applied a temporary list closure for three months.

For patients needing to register with a GP surgery, there are other local practices with open lists which also cover the Lancing area and you can check to see if you live within their boundaries by clicking on the links below:

If you are unable to register with a GP locally, please see the Sussex ICB website for more details.

You can also contact the GP Allocations team at NHS Sussex on telephone number 0300 140 9855 for further advice.

Temporary Services

If you are ill while away from home or if you are not registered with a Doctor but need to see one, you can receive emergency treatment from the local GP Practice for 14 days. After 14 days you will need to register as a temporary or permanent patient.

You can be registered as a temporary patient for up to three months. This will allow you to be on the local Practice list and still remain a patient of your permanent GP. After three months you will have to re-register as a temporary patient or permanently register with that Practice.

To register as a temporary patient simply contact the practice you wish to use. Practices do not have to accept you as a temporary patient although they do have an obligation to offer emergency treatment. You cannot register as a temporary patient at a Practice in the town or area where you are already registered.

Your Named GP

All Patients registered with the surgery will have been allocated a named accountable GP who will be responsible for your overall care. However, you can book appointments with any of the GPs at the surgery. If you have a preference to which GP you are allocated, the practice will make reasonable efforts to accommodate your requests. If you wish to know which GP has been allocated to you, please ask reception at your next visit.
